JUNIOR PROGRAMME OFFICER (RIVER CARE PROGRAMME)

 

Duty Station: Ipoh, Perak
Responsibility of Position: To assist the Program Coordinator related to water resources and river management.

•    Integrated river basin and eco-system management
•    Water catchment protection
•    Sg. Kinta river basin management through community and stakeholders participation
•    Assessment of urban and river environment/pollution issues
•    Environmental assessment and monitoring of rivers and lake
•    Organizing awareness events and stimulating community participation.
•    Support stakeholders initiative
•    Community liaison and coordination of community based environmental clean-up and monitoring

Job Requirements:

•    Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in teams.
•    Master in environmental or natural resource management an advantage.
•    Must have experience in water resources and environmental management.
•    Experience in stakeholder esp. community consultation.
•    Fluent in English and Malay with good writing and communication skills.
•    Other language skills are an added advantage
•    High degree of competency in computer and internet use.
•    Minimum 3-5 years relevant working experience
•    Willingness to travel
•    Pleasant personality
•    Driving license and own transport

FUNDRAISING/ PARTNERSHIPS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Duty Station: Petaling Jaya/Kuala Lumpur

Responsibility of Position:
To build partnerships with private sector, government and civil society and generate funds and other resources.

Activities will include:

•    Development of corporate partnership and sponsorship schemes
•    Development of individual/public contribution schemes
•    Development of promotion and fundraising mechanisms
•    Input to development of new projects and activities
•    Inputs into branding and promotion of GEC.
•    Development of concepts and strategies for awareness campaigns/events 


Job Requirements:

•    Degree in Communications/Marketing or equivalent experience
•    Proven track record  of building partnerships and raising funds
•    Commitment to support environment protection and  community welfare
•    Experience in working with non-profit organizations an advantage
•    Fluent in English with good presentation skills
•    Fluency in other languages an advantage
•    Experienced in computer and internet use
•    Minimum 5 years relevant working experience
•    Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in teams
•    Willingness to travel
•    Pleasant personality with good public relation skills

PROGRAMME OFFICER (PEATLAND PROGRAMME)

Duty Station: Petaling Jaya

Responsibility of Position:
•    Involvement in the implementation of a range of existing projects
•    Undertaking project activities such as studies, awareness programmes, networking and information exchange
•    Providing input to technical and management reports
•    Working with partner agencies in Malaysia and overseas
•    Working on aspects of field projects in Malaysia and overseas
•    Input to development of new projects and activities
•    Contribute to other elements of the Peatland Programme as appropriate

Job Requirements
•    Degree in Environmental or Natural Resource Management
•    Experience in forest, natural resources or peatland management, and biodiversity or climate change issues
•    Fluent in English with good writing skills
•    Experienced in computer and basic software skills – e.g. Microsoft office
•    Minimum 2-5 years relevant working experience
•    Experience in multidisciplinary teams an advantage
•    Experience in awareness and information exchange  
•    Willingness to travel
